Spleodar Student Interview & Information meeting/An tAgallamh (ONLINE)
In order to fully understand each student’s needs, and to ensure that both students and parents understand how Spleodar courses run, every student must attend an online information meeting before they attend a course.
Our Online Meetings
All information evenings are now held online. Every new student must attend an information evening. If this meeting is missed, the student will not be allowed to attend a Spleodar course. A parent/guardian must accompany the student to this meeting. All meetings last 45 minutes approx.
What happens during the online meeting?
The meeting involves a conversation in Irish between the student and a Spleodar staff member (in a breakout room to ensure privacy), as well as an information session & video presentation (in English) to answer any questions the students and parents might have. Spleodar’s rules, including “Riail na Gaeilge” (the “Irish Language Rule”), will also be explained at the meeting. This is not an Irish exam! It is just a way for us to learn about you and show you how your Spleodar course will work. We find this meeting really helps students to know what to expect in the summer.
When do we hold the online interviews?
As we will have a large number of new students, information evening will start in late October and run through until March / April before the summer courses begin.
Returning students do not have to attend a meeting. It is for NEW students.
Every student must be accompanied by a parent/guardian (even for online meeting).
