Spleodar: Immersive Irish Summer Courses in Connemara (4th Class – 5th Year)
Spleodar is a not for profit Irish Language youth organisation which runs residential courses in the heart of Connemara during the Summer months. With more than 20 years of experience, Spleodar have a proud heritage of providing high quality education and promoting the Irish language.
We run three sessions of courses (June/July/August) for student ages ranging from 4th class in Primary school to 5th year (pre-Leaving Cert) in Secondary school, spread among six unique locations around the west coast. As well as our summer courses, we hold multiple annual events for students during the year, and organise up to seventeen student clubs around the country that provide great opportunities to keep building on Irish learned over the summer.

Nuacht & Upcoming
The Department of Culture, Heritage and the Gaeltach inspects the houses in which the students stay, ensuring standards laid out by the department are upheld.
The speaking and learning of Irish is a cornerstone of Spleodar, as is developing leadership skills. Willingness, effort and hard work are key to an enjoyable course. Students who immerse themselves in the course will benefit both in terms of language and personal development.
All events are run on a group basis by cinnirí under the constant supervision of senior members of staff.
